Scheduled Walk Events
Come join us for the two walks we hold each year to raise funds and awareness for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation! We help our community prepare for our walking events through bi-weekly training walks. Check our calendar for bi-weekly training walks in the DFW area. We typically walk at North Park Mall or Grapevine Mills mall when the weather is not cool/warm enough (above 60 and below 85). Otherwise, we are outdoors in Lewisville at L Woods Park, Eureka Park in Denton, White Rock Lake or will come to a neighborhood near you!
We create 2 walking events each year to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to fund research for a cure, to end breast cancer. Our walking events are approximately 5 miles. They are held the last Saturday in April and the 3rd Saturday in October.
Registration for the walking events is free. You can register with the link on the registration page. T-shirts will be on sale and there will be details about upcoming events.
30WALK focuses on our community of families and encouraging at least 30 minutes of activity every day. Most children in school and have before or after school activities, which keep them active. If not, encourage your kids to play, run, shoot hoops, play volleyball or just walk around the block with you! Staying active, maintaining a good body weight, eating lots of fiber, green veggies and fruits and lowering fat intake are all great ways that you can take action and actively lower your risk for breast cancer!
We are inspired to help others to take steps to improve their health, get active and engage their family with healthy eating challenges and that they will see 30WALK Pinkie Promise details and want to get involved or offer support.
Annual Health Fair and Luncheon
On October 5th (the first Saturday of the month) we will hold our Annual Health Fair with many community health organizations in the area that help support our families’ health.
Early registration is $30. The price per couple is $50 and early registration for a table of 10 is $225. You will be treated to an elegant meal prepared by the Warwick Melrose chef while meeting new friends and partners in the health of your family and community. You will have fun bidding on the silent auction items which helps us raise additional funds for research from the proceeds of our event. Click here to go to register now!
This event was born from our first Annual Health Fair Luncheon in 2013. The girls who arrived created posters and mottos to share with survivors and people recently diagnosed. From there, Sophie imagined a world where anyone who was recently diagnosed would get an immediate sign of hope. Girl’s Hope brings words of encouragement and support to those given a diagnosis of breast cancer through creative cards and letters offering hope and help.
Bi-Weekly Training Walks
Our Training Walks are held in different areas of the Metroplex, with flexible distances based on time availability. These bi-weekly walks allow people to engage and talk through health / family related questions, struggles and share accomplishments and just plain fellowship.
Once a year we kick off a 6-8 week challenge to “Waist-Away” and focus on diet, exercise and waist loss! There is a winner announced for both male and female categories.
We have fundraising events throughout the year at Painting with a Twist / Garland – one of our generous sponsors!
